Curt Smith Jr. and team rolled into Darana Motorsports Park in Benson, NC for the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series competing in a tough Stock Eliminator field.

Curt qualified mid-pack and lined up for a competitive first-round matchup against Tim Barrett. At the hit, Curt was solid on the tree with a .060 reaction time and ran a strong 7.09 on a 7.07 dial-in, but it wasn’t enough to advance.

Barrett was able to take the win, ending Curt’s weekend earlier than hoped.

The car showed consistency and performance throughout the event, and the team will look to build on that momentum heading into the next race.
