In 2012, Curtis Smith received one of the highest honors of his career.
That year, Curtis was inducted into the North Carolina Drag Racing Hall of Fame, a recognition of decades of excellence, consistency, and impact on the sport. He was inducted alongside fellow legends Doug Herbert, Tommy Mauney, and Ralph Seagraves, placing him among some of the most respected names in drag racing history.
The induction honored not only Curtis’s championships and record-setting performances, but also his influence on Stock Eliminator racing and the legacy he helped build for the Smith family. In 2012, Curtis Smith’s place in North Carolina drag racing history was permanently secured.
