The 2024 Carolina Class Racers Association season started off this past weekend at Roxboro Motorsports Park. Roxboro, a track that was the site of a memorable final round matchup between two hall of famers Curtis Smith and Gene Fulton in years past, hosted the CCRA for the first time in many years. Curt Smith Jr. started Saturday out with two successful qualifying passes in his "Shakedown" 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. During first round of eliminations, Curt Jr. turned on the red light by -.01 seconds. The CCRA Sunday event started out with a first round win for Curt Jr., earning him the Wayside Landscapes and Supply Bounty Hunter Award by beating the previous race's runner up finisher. Unfortunatly, second round Curt Jr. turned on the red bulb by .004 seconds, ending his weekend.
