Earl Smith started racing nationally in 1957 with his brand new Chevy Bel Air. "Cigar Earl" went on to have a successful career that spanned over 40 years, winning multiple national events and setting countless class records.
Gene "Pop" Carlsward served at Curtis' crew chief for more than 20 years. Known for his tall stature, Kenny Rogers beard and trademark cowboy hat, Gene was Curtis' closest ally on race day. Gene passed away in 2011 leaving behind a great legacy.

Curtis Smith is a member of the East Coast Drag Racing Hall of Fame, North Carolina Drag Racing Hall of Fame and the Sampson County Sports Hall of Fame. A former World Champion, Curtis is currently the All Time Winningest IHRA Stock Eliminator driver.

Curt Smith Jr. is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington, majoring in Communication Studies and minoring in Psychology. Curt Jr. is a third generation Chevrolet driver and started racing at the age of 18.
